Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 7, 2026
Last updated: August 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MD Convert Lab ("MD Convert Lab," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use mdconvertlab.com and contact us. This policy is a practical description of the current version of the service and is not legal advice.
1. Markdown conversion
MD Convert Lab is designed to convert Markdown to DOCX in your browser. In the current version:
- your Markdown source, selected local file contents, document title, output filename, settings, preview data, warnings, and generated DOCX are intended to remain in your current browser session;
- we do not provide accounts, cloud document storage, document history, sharing links, or server-side conversion;
- we do not intentionally send your Markdown or generated DOCX to Cloudflare, Plausible, Google, or another conversion provider;
- clearing, replacing, refreshing, or closing the page removes session data from the application, subject to normal browser memory behavior.
Static application files may be cached by your browser or network, but the application must not use cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, or Cache Storage to persist your document content.
Do not rely on this tool as your only copy of a document. Keep your own source and review every generated DOCX before using or sharing it.
2. Information processed when you visit
Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, DNS, and security services for the site. Like other hosting and network providers, Cloudflare may process ordinary technical data associated with a request, such as IP address, request time, browser information, requested path, and security signals, under its own terms and policies.
This ordinary network processing is separate from Markdown conversion. We do not intend for document content, filenames, document titles, conversion settings, warnings, or DOCX data to be included in hosting logs.
3. Privacy-friendly analytics
We use Plausible Analytics Cloud to understand aggregate site usage. Plausible states that its hosted service does not use cookies or persistent identifiers, does not store raw IP addresses, and hosts visitor analytics data in the European Union.
Depending on the verified production script, analytics may include:
- hostname and page path, with query strings and fragments removed by our implementation;
- referring site;
- browser, operating system, and device type;
- approximate country, region, and city derived by Plausible without storing the raw IP address;
- aggregate pageviews and engagement information, such as time on page or scroll depth.
We do not permit analytics events or properties to contain Markdown, document fragments, content hashes or lengths, filenames, document titles, links from a document, images, preview data, warnings, conversion settings, conversion errors, or DOCX data. We do not use session replay, form tracking, input tracking, or analytics-based error tracking.
4. Cookies and local storage
The current version does not use non-essential cookies or persistent analytics identifiers. Plausible is configured as cookie-free analytics. For that reason, we do not currently display a cookie consent banner or maintain a separate Cookie Policy.
If our use of cookies, browser storage, analytics, or advertising changes, we will reassess consent requirements and update this policy before the changed processing is used.
5. Support communications
You may contact us at support@mdconvertlab.com. Cloudflare Email Routing forwards messages to a Gmail account operated through Google. Cloudflare and Google may process the message, sender address, routing metadata, and attachments under their respective terms and policies.
Please send only the minimum information needed. You may include a small, redacted screenshot or example when necessary, but do not send complete confidential documents, passwords, government identifiers, financial information, sensitive personal data, employer secrets, third-party personal data, or content you do not have the right to share.
We generally delete support and privacy correspondence within 30 days after the matter is resolved. We may retain limited information longer when reasonably necessary for an active dispute, security incident, abuse investigation, or legal obligation. This period applies to copies under our control; providers may maintain limited backups or security records under their own documented practices.
6. How we use information
We use the limited information described above to:
- provide, secure, and maintain the site;
- understand aggregate usage and improve the service;
- respond to support, privacy, and legal requests;
- investigate misuse or security incidents; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information or use document content for advertising, profiling, or model training.
7. Disclosures
We may disclose information:
- to Cloudflare for hosting, delivery, security, and email routing;
- to Plausible for the limited aggregate analytics described above;
- to Google for receipt and handling of support email;
- when required by applicable law or a valid legal process; or
- when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or others from fraud, abuse, or security threats.
If the service changes to use another provider that can access personal information or document content, we will update this policy and the product's data handling before that processing begins.
8. Your choices and requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or information about personal data we control. Because the converter does not provide accounts or intentionally store document content, we may have little or no document data that can be associated with you.
For requests concerning support correspondence or other information under our control, contact support@mdconvertlab.com. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify and complete the request, but we will not ask you to send your Markdown or DOCX unless a minimal, redacted example is genuinely necessary and you choose to provide it.
9. Children
The service is intended for users age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent us personal information through the support channel may contact support@mdconvertlab.com to request appropriate deletion or restriction.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to this limited service. No website, browser, email service, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Avoid entering or emailing information that is not needed for the conversion or support request.
11. International processing
The site may be accessed internationally. Cloudflare operates a global network. Plausible states that visitor analytics for its hosted service are processed and stored in the European Union. Support email is routed through Cloudflare and received through Google's infrastructure. Your information may therefore be processed in countries other than where you live, subject to the relevant provider's practices and applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The Privacy page will display the current effective date and last-updated date. Material changes will be presented in a manner appropriate to their significance before or when they take effect.
